Coruscant

“An incandescent organ of life, visibly vibrating with the pulses of billions.” That’s legendary Chancellor Signet Mezzileen speaking of Coruscant, the planet he ruled for seventy years and praised as “the galaxy’s biggest little neighborhood”. Contrast that with poet Adder Ain-la’s famous denunciation of the Republic capital: “A dead metal shell of a world, Coruscant is soulless beyond salvation, so cold and empty its frozen carcass must be reheated with solar mirrors.”
Neither commentary is right or wrong. Coruscant is the type of world that can be both spectacular and frightening, where indigents are sheltered in the shadow of restaurants selling food at ten thousand credits per plate. One thing it will never be is predictable… or dull.
From space, “the jewel of the Core Worlds” can almost be mistaken for an artificial construct. Where other worlds have forests and grasslands, Coruscant has factories, skyscrapers and aquifers. Every scrap of surface area, except for the tiny polar ice caps and Western Sea, has been smothered by a dense layer of urbanization. In many places, this layer is covered by another layer, then another and another, creating canyons the plunge vertically for kilometers. Even the Manarai mountain range, surely the planet’s most distinctive features in eons past, is now a mere swelling in the omnipresent cityscape, dusted in snow.
Orbital traffic encloses the planet like electrons around a nucleus, delivering food and supplies, ambassadors and tourists. Magnetic guidance lines organize atmospheric traffic into rows on a rigid grid. Landing platforms hovering among the traffic lanes accommodate the few private starships that are permitted to break orbit. Airbuses and air taxis ferry Coruscant’s citizens, while cargo transfer passes through freight tunnels underground. Pipelines suck water from the polar ice caps and the excessive ocean water of the Western Sea are purified and store it into reservoirs.
It is possible, and even expected, for many people to live their entire lives kilometers removed from the unpleasantness of the depths. Everything they need is a short walk or a flitter ride away, and the politicians for whom Coruscant is a second home have made sure the planet is never lacking in luxury.

Locations: Imperial City
Imperial Palace
The colossal building of the Imperial Palace dominated the skyline of Imperial City, was once the Jedi Temple. Emperor Palaptine, when destroyed the Jedi Order, he made it his personal palace has a way to gloat that he succeeded what other Sith lords failed to do in the past: total destruction of the Jedi Order. The palace could house tens of thousands of individuals. Most of the interiors remain the same, but the Jedi Statues or any Jedi relic was removed and destroyed. The Jedi Statues that once stood outside where replace with other statues honoring Imperial heroes.

Atop the blocky dormitory slab, is where the Imperial Gardens is located as well the five spires – one in the center and one at each corner – reached for the vault of Coruscant’s crowded sky. The four surrounding towers, where transformed into defensive turrets to defend the palace from either an air or ground attack. The central tower held the famous Jedi Council Chamber, where the twelve members of the ruling Jedi Council convened, was transformed into Emperor’s Throne room and personal office of the Emperor, where he receive any audience. On the top of the center tower above the Emperor’s Throne room is located a shield generator that involves all the Imperial palace grounds.

The archive of the Jedi Temple was transformed into two centers. One is the Imperial Information Center, which contained everything from ancient hyperspace maps to the plans of sensitive information, from the First Death Star to the Tarkin’s Legacy plans. The second is divided into a slicing and decoding center and a communication center, where send to and receive from the rest of the galaxy information and communications.
The Senate Chamber
The Senate Chamber was another of Coruscant’s striking edifices. Fronted by impressionistic statues, the chamber was built many levels above the site of the original Senate Hall. The Senate Rotunda contained 1,024 floating platforms, each belonging to a regional or sectorial Senator, forming a microcosm of the civilized galaxy. Directly behind each senatorial platform, delegates could retreat to a narrow slice of offices built to accommodate the environmental needs of each specific species. Emperor Palpatine closed the Senate Chamber when he dissolved the Imperial Senate, the building would stand as an emblem of what once was. Now it is open, as tourist attraction that can be visit to show the decay of the Old Republic, has means to promote the Empire was necessary change.
Imperial Executive Building
Situated near the Senate Chamber, this annex dome was designed to complement the Senate Chamber, to alleviate the cramped office conditions in the Senate Chamber and all senators held an office here. After the Imperial Senate was dissolved, this building was transformer and became the headquarters Imperial High Command, charged with coordinating and supervising all branches of the Imperial Military.
Galaxies Opera House
This Opera House is the favorite locale in Corsucant, thus the favorite among the Coruscant and Imperial elite. Possibly one of the most prestigious and exclusive art houses in the Galaxy and perhaps the oldest one, the building itself was built in a baroque design that predated the formation of the Old Republic and included an actual orchestra pit. The Opera’s wealthiest patrons could reserve private viewing balconies, with individual, leveled seating for all others.
Westport
Westport was the starport most commonly associated with Imperial City. Though the city had other public spaceports – Eastport, Newport, West Championne landing field and among many others – the bustling aerodrome of Westport enjoyed a favorable location near the Imperial Palace, the Senate Building, Coruscant University, Coruscant Imperial Academy and the Legislative Borough.
Monument Plaza
For countless generations the bowl of Monument Plaza has encircled the summit of Umate, one of the highest peaks in the Manarai mountain range. Tourists flock to Monument Plaza with a sense of unsettled curiosity, scarcely believing that this is the only spot in the cityscape where one can touch the bare rock of sacred Umate summit. The surrounding mall is more interesting than the peak itself, it resembles a sports arena with the highest peaks in the Manarai mountain range, sitting at the center of the playing field. Heroic statues and colorful banners decorate the grounds, while restaurants and souvenirs shops are built into the plaza walls. The most popular spots here is the Manarai resturant, that one has to make reservations months in advance.
The Western Sea
Coruscant locals who frequent the Western Sea think they had traveled to a coastal resort on some tropical planet. This is the only ocean of Coruscant that still exists, it is 1.7 Billion acres wide, with 1.4 billion acres are islands mainly covered by rainforest, where urban city and nature are in harmony. In the middle of ocean several islands exists, where are habited by the wealthy and powerful, who have vacation homes and predominant estates located here. Among them, Darth Vader had the largest and the most opulent estate away from unwanted eyes. The one of most frequent establishments here is the Dexter’s Diner, but the most popular spot is newly Outlander Club.
The Uscru
The Uscru (also known as Uscru Entertainment District), is situated in former region of Uscru, before Coruscant became an ecumenopolis. The district is alive at night and day (of the little light it reaches here), full with clubs, bars, restaurants, with holograms that lit up the streets. It was considered the layer between the jewel city and the Coruscant underworld. In the heart of the Uscru, is the Uscru Plaza, which is the epicenter of nighlife, with several small bars and cantinas spread across the Plaza. The most popular spot of all is the Snapping Septoid, after the old Outlander Club was burn down and destroyed.

The Mayor of the Uscru is a corrupt human, name Valis Crowion, that makes the district infamous for its seedy look, to be center of death stick dealers, and crimelords, because it is considered the district of highest crime-rate areas on Coruscant. It is said that Valis Crowion, is responsible for the destruction of old Outlander Club, due to shady business gone bad with one of Baath brothers, which directly gave a considerable shaddy reputation to Valis. Young thrill-seekers and slumming nobles pack many dance floors every evening, sampling the ready menu of alcohol, death sticks, spice and extremely gorgeous women for prostitution. Vidscreens built into the walls broadcast all matter of galactic sports events, from the popular Brutball to Podracing, and gambling is encouraged at the droid-staffed sports areas.
Salater's University
The University District is a location among the oldest institutions in the Galaxy, and was founded by Kario Sallon. The Salater’s University is named after the great discover and the creator of the Celestial theory. Though not the most prestigious university in the galaxy, it attracts some of the Empire’s brightest minds who not only fall in love with the idea of studying and teaching on cosmopolitan Coruscant, but also the conditions offered to the students and teachers are by far the best in the galaxy. It is said that this was brilliant way for Emperor Palpatine to get some of the most brilliant minds to work for him and Emperor Eskron continue with the tradition. With most students belonging to wealthy families, soon several merchants and commercial entrepreneurs selling leading-edge gadgets, information brokers, outlaw techs and slicers set their businesses here, though the price tag would probably make a miser faint.
Galactic Museum
The Galactic Museum sits at the heart of Coruscant, just one kilometer south of the Salater’s University. For over 12,000 years it has been the galaxy’s premier repository for artifacts worth preserving. The museum’s exhibit wings, each of which can take days to explore, include themes such as “The New Order: the Glory of the Next Thousand Generations”, “History of Hyperdrive”, “Planetary Cultures” and the “Fauna and Flora of the Galaxy”. One of the most important exhibits in this museum tells the story of the Clone Wars and the betrayal of the Jedi. At the entrance of that particular wing there is a statue of Wilhuff Tarkin. Most of the artifacts and history are images of the Empire’s propaganda machine. The betrayal of the Jedi in the Clone Wars still causes a lot of discussion in the Coruscant’s society. With the Holonet being very strictly controlled, the lies that are located in this wing are believed by the common folk. Anyone who visits the Galactic Museum has his or her image captured by security cameras, making it an unwelcome destination for anyone in trouble with the authorities.
The Invisible Sector
If possible, the Invisible Sector – called Invisec by the locals and the Alien Protection Zone by Imperial apologists – was the most dangerous location on Coruscant, situated on the lowest levels of Coruscant. Emperor Palpatine relocated all the more obvious non-human species to Invisec several years into his reign, walling off the new ghetto. Blaster-toting stormtroopers patrolled the border between Invisec and the upper levels, making sure that anyone passing in or out had proper documentation. Some aliens, members of Elite Aliens, are allow to live outside this sector, if they have set of skills that improve the quality of Imperial live in Coruscant, they can be excellent culinary chefs to security guards and banking analysts.
It goes without saying that aliens hated Invisec, and any Humans visiting the district would attract unfriendly glares at best or a vibroblade to the ribs at worst. The district was a breeding ground for every sort of illegal activity from forgery to black marketeering to bare-knuckled pit fighting. Since Imperial officers seldom venture inside the Invisec to see what the aliens were doing, Invisec became a sanctuary for guerrilla-style resistance against Imperial Rule. The Alien Combine was one of several anti-Imperial groups that sprang up in Invisec.
The Works
Not every megablock on Courscant is filled with people. The Works (also known as the Factory District) is a large industrial area of Coruscant, where goods were manufactured for export and for local consumption. Despite the sheer tonnage of the factory district annual output, Coruscant’s trillion citizens are far from self-sufficient. The Works fell on hard times during an economic recession, many companies decided to abandon the Works, for cheap labor and off-world facilities. Prospective urban developers released stone mites, duracrete slugs and conduit worms into the Works, in an attempt to clear the area out so could be purchased and refurbished.

When the Clone Wars started, Chancellor Palpatine, decided with the approval of Galactic Senate to rebuild the Works for the production to the Republic’s military efforts. When The Galactic Empire came to power, the Works quickly became as a manufacturing center for Tie Fighters and other sort of crafts, producing hundreds of starfighters per day, as well other military equipment from blasters to walkers.
Zhell Shipyards
Named after the human ancestors, the inhabitants of Zhell, this shipyards was built by the Empire to serve as shipyards and a commerce center. The shipyards are in length 100 kilometers, with the heart of the shipyards being 50 kilometers in length. The heart of shipyards harbors the central never system of the station, the bridge is situated on the top, where directs traffic and day to day routine. Underneath the bridge is situated the offices and in the equator of this station is the rooms of either personnel workers of the shipyards, as also large market where goods are sold and traded. In the lower levels is situated the quarters of the crew and workers of this shipyards, as well any freighter pilots that finds a place to rest for day. The rings around the heart of the shipyards, where the hangars are located as the repair shops and storage areas, each ring has about 50 hangars for small cargo transporters, several drydocks of different sizes and two access points for 5 Star Destroyers or one Super Star Destroyer. At the center of the ring is a power reactor and powers that section of the station, which is directly connected to main power reactor.

- le Général Grievous, cyborg Kaleesh (2m16), Commandant de l'armée droïde ;
- Nute Gunray, Vice-Roi de la Fédération du Commerce, et son lieutenant Rune Haako, Administrateur de la Fédération du Commerce, des Neimoidiens ;
- l'Archiduc Poggle le Bref de Géonosis (Géonosien, 1m75) qui était le leader public de Geonosis durant la Guerre des Clones bien qu'en vérité il répondait aux ordres de Karina la Grande (8m60) ;
- Wat Tambor, Représentant du Techno Syndicat (Skakoan, 1m93)
- San Hill, Président du Clan Bancaire Intergalactique (Muun)
- Shu Mai, Présidente de la Guilde du Commerce (Gossam originaire de Castell, 1m65 contre 1m25 en moyenne pour les membres de son espèce);
