Alsakan was an ecumenopolis world in the Alsakan system in the Core Worlds. A Core Founder on the Perlemian Trade Route, Alsakan was an ancient, wealthy world that had been a major political player for centuries, and was responsible for the seventeen Alsakan Conflicts that had been fought with Coruscant over the nature and shape of the early Galactic Republic.

An urbanized Core World, Ator dispatched several colonial expeditions to the Outer Rim in 4200 BBY, although many failed after communication was lost. A number of colonies that survived in the rimward section of the Corellian Run formed the Arkanis Regency, which later became host to the more recent colony of New Ator in 80 BBY.
Ator was the birthplace of Owen Lars. Ator was where Cliegg Lars went after leaving Tatooine, and the original homeworld of both himself and his future wife, Aika. The planet was known for its puzzles.

Axxila was a planet in the D'Astan sector of the Outer Rim Territories.
Axxila was an ecumenopolis, often described as "Coruscant, but inside-out". It was located at the intersection of the Celanon Spur and the hyperlane of industrial worlds that also contained Edusa and Vandyne.
The system was home to the Axxila antipirate fleet.

Carratos was a planet in the Inner Rim, roughly forty parsecs from Coruscant.
History
Heavily urbanized, Carratos was a planet chosen by the Fallanassi to be a place of refuge for some of their youngest initiates while they were being persecuted on Lucazec. Akanah was sent to a school in the Chofin settlement. Around this time, Carratos was subjugated by the Galactic Empire around 10 BBY. The Empire established a heavy garrison and trapped its residents with high taxes for departure. When the Empire collapsed and the garrison withdrew, Carratos spiraled into crime and became home to many pirates.
The planet was conquered by the Yuuzhan Vong during their galactic invasion.

Coruscant (pronounced /'kɔɹəsɑnt/ or, more rarely, /kəˈɹʌskənt/), originally called Notron, also known as Imperial Center or the Queen of the Core, was a planet located in the Galactic Core. It was generally agreed that Coruscant was, during most of galactic history, the most politically important world in the galaxy. At various times, it was the capital of the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, the New Republic, the Yuuzhan Vong empire, the Galactic Alliance, very briefly the Fel Empire, Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire, and the Galactic Federation Triumvirate. In controlling Coruscant, these governments controlled most of the galaxy in the process.
Over the centuries, Coruscant had developed into an ecumenopolis, with a total of 5,127 levels of city built up from the crust by the time of the Clone Wars. The actual planet-wide metropolis of Coruscant was called Galactic City. Under the Galactic Republic, the names Republic City or the City of Spires were also used to reference the city. It was also called Imperial City under the Galactic Empire, and New Republic City under the New Republic. However, in practice, Galactic City and its other names were sometimes applied to the Senate District, the central government center and de facto capital of Coruscant. Under the Yuuzhan Vong, the city and planet were both referred to as Yuuzhan'tar.
Denon was a planet between Osarian and Nubia, was an ecumenopolis world, or city growth covering the entire surface, similar to Coruscant.
Denon was at the confluence of the Hydian Way and the Corellian Run. In terms of being an ecumenopolis, it was second only to Coruscant. Denon was a heavily-populated world that rose to prominence during the rule of the Galactic Republic.
The planet was a former colony of the Rakata in the Pre-Republic era.

- Human
- Canoid
- Formerly: Rakata

Gerrenthum was a planet along the Corellian Trade Spine and the capital of the Anoat sector.
It was from Gerrenthum, 400 years before the Battle of Yavin, that Lord Ecclessis Figg plumbed the depths of the Twin Nebulae and blazed the Lutrillian Cross and Nothoiin Corridor. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, its fortuitous location at the junction of three important hyperspace routes led Gerrenthum to grow from a sleepy Outer Rim planet into a modern megaworld.
It was surrounded by thousands of nav beacons that outlined the corridors off and on the planet, and thousands of starships passed through the spaceports of Gerrenthum every hour. Gerrenthum was also the headquarters of the various Figg corporations, including Figg & Associates, Figg Excavations, and the Outer Javin Company. Planetary security was tight for members and friends of the Figg family.

Grizmallt was an ecumenopolis in the Core Worlds of the galaxy. Situated on the Perlemian Trade Route, rimward of Alsakan, it was a prominent industrial planet.
Part of the Tetrahedron, or Inner Core, Grizmallt was an ancient, prestigious planet. In the ancient Alsakan Conflicts from 17,000 BBY, fought between Coruscant and Alsakan over the governance of the early Republic, Grizmallt sided with the Alsakan-led Axis coalition.
In approximately 3950 BBY, Queen Elsinoré den Tasia ascended to the planetary throne, and sponsored the scout Kwilaan, who discovered Naboo in the Mid Rim. In 3900 BBY, refugees fleeing from a violent revolution on the planet, led by Kwilaan, fled in an expeditionary fleet consisting of three colony ships: Beneficent Tasia, Constant and Mother Vima—which lost contact with Grizmallt, but found a new home on Naboo. The monarchy of Naboo kept many of the outer regalia of the Grizmallt monarchy, but eventually become elected rather than hereditary.
Another Grizmallt expedition settled on Renatasia, a planet in what would become the Centrality, spinward of Hutt Space in the Outer Rim. The expedition later lost contact with the wider galaxy. The colony was rediscovered in 13 BBY. A third expedition colonized the harsh world of Nam Chorios. In addition, many other worlds were colonized by Grizmallt natives.
In the century leading up to the establishment of the Galactic Empire, Grizmallt was one of the galaxy's largest industrial manufacturing facilities, rivaled only by Kuat Drive Yards and Rendili StarDrive. Around 22 BBY, Grizmallt was represented in the Galactic Senate by Senator Tashrikam. At the start of the Clone Wars, the Commissars of Grizmallt ordered engineers and industrial spies to reduce the lead in starship construction Kuat had gained from its secret first contract for the Grand Army's vehicles and warships.
After the Battle of Endor, Grizmallt, along with Alsakan and Wukkar, surrendered to the New Republic fairly quickly after Admiral Gial Ackbar's fleet entered the Core Worlds in 6 ABY.
The Tetrahedron was an ancient, pre-Republic description of an area later known as the Arrowhead. It contained many of the founding worlds of the Galactic Republic, including Corellia, Coruscant, and Duro. It was named such because a Duros hyperspatial physicist believed that the planets of Alderaan, Coruscant, and Corellia, along with the Ginn Jump (a location in the Core Worlds), were the four vertices of a perfect geometric pyramid.
In 1 BBY, Doctor Insmot Bowen, pre-Republic specialist at the Obroan Institute for Archaeology, mentioned the Humans of the Tetrahedron during a conversation with Bevel Lemelisk, Admiral Conan Antonio Motti and General Arhul Kurumenga, indicating that the term was still in use when related to historical events.
Humbarine was an ecumenopolis located in the Core Worlds region of the galaxy. The capital of the heavily-industrialized Humbarine sector, the planet Humbarine was a promising hub of commerce as early as 25,000 BBY, when it became a founding member of the Galactic Republic. Prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, the world was largely unaffected by galactic conflicts but nonetheless possessed a sector fleet of large warships for defense.
When war broke out between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Humbarine was left vulnerable to Separatist attack, its defenses having been co-opted for use by the Republic Navy. The world was targeted by the Confederacy multiple times during the conflict, but it was the last of these attacks that proved most disastrous for Humbarine. As part of a campaign that targeted twenty-six Republic worlds in 20 BBY, Separatist General Grievous's attack on Humbarine culminated in an hour-long orbital bombardment that reduced the city-planet to slag and left the world—now abandoned as a lost cause by the Republic—uninhabitable.
Despite the depopulation and destruction, Humbarine was eventually resettled by the Galactic Empire at some point following the end of the Clone Wars. In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the planet became one of numerous Imperial fortress worlds spread across the Empire's shrinking territory. By 25 ABY, Humbarine possessed a population of ten to 100 million sentient beings, and largely managed to stay out of further galactic affairs.
Jutrand was a city-planet that was located in the Grumani sector, in the Outer Rim Territories. Hundreds of corporations had their headquarters on the world.
The city covering the surface of Jutrand was razed by stone mites during the Hundred-Year Darkness, but was subsequently rebuilt. During the Republic Dark Age, Jutrand served as the capital world of the Bactranate, a Sith state that was led by the Quermian Sith Lord Ayanos Bactra.
Following the Battle of Gazzari in 1032 BBY, family matriarch Vilia Calimondra ordered her grandchildren including Odion, Daiman, Lioko, and Malakite to turn on Bactra. During the invasion of the Bactranate, Odionate forces conquered Jutrand. However, during a family bequest, Odion's brother Daiman was given control of Industrial Heuristics and its corporate assets; angering Odion. As recompense, Vilia provided Odion two legions of Trandoshan slave warriors.
The planet was later a member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.

Christophsis was a crystalline world in the Outer Rim Territories' Savareen sector. Orbited by a single moon amongst the mineral-rich asteroids of the Christoph system, Christophsis was for a time a target for stray rocks because of its closeness to various asteroid belts, but the planet was refined by Tepasi nobles around 600 BBY, and later by the world's native Christophsian inhabitants, who originated as Humans from the Core. Christophsis was eventually protected from the asteroids and transformed into the center of a mining hub. By the time of the Clone Wars, the Christophsians ruled their homeworld in a mercantile oligarchy and had established Chaleydonia, also known as Crystal City, as their planet's capital. Various species also immigrated to the world, including Rodians, Kerkoidens, and lower-caste Humans who came to serve the Christophsians.
All of the Christophsians' hard work was ultimately crippled when the Separatist-backed Retail Caucus conglomerate seized Christophsis in the first year of the Clone Wars, with the feared Admiral Trench blockading Christophsis and General Whorm Loathsom subjugating the Christophsian people. Although a Jedi-led battle group from the Grand Army of the Republic eventually liberated Christophsis, the costly Republic victory reduced several key cities to rubble. The Separatists later returned to the planet to mine for its crystals to fuel their new superweapon, the Devastation, a plot that was halted by Senator Padmé Amidala and the Jedi Order. Eventually, with the establishment of the New Order, Christophsis became a reluctant member of the Galactic Empire, but ignored all of the following galactic governments.

Karideph was a planet in the Karideph system, a star system in the Outer Rim Territories's resource-rich Minos Cluster. Home of the insectoid Kari species, Karideph's surface was almost entirely dominated by gardens and agricultural fields that provided for the planet's population of more than 88 billion. Discovered by the greater galaxy alongside the rest of the Minos Cluster between 3956 BBY and 3681 BBY, Karideph was the next stop along the Rimma Trade Route after Elrood, and the Trition Trade Route branched off Karideph to connect the Minos Cluster and the Kathol sector to the Rimma. Karideph was invaded by the reconstituted Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War, but a Galactic Republic counterattack under the command of Jedi Master Orgus Din and the Special Forces' Lieutenant Harron Tavus drove back the Imperial assault.

The Kari were small sentient insectoids covered with a black exoskeleton. They were the only sentient race indigenous to Karideph. They were bipedal and walked on two powerful legs and possessed two smaller 'arm' appendages used to manipulate their environment as well as objects. Their homeworld's surface was dominated by massive city-like structures which forced a majority of the Kari to live in an underground system of tunnels. This resulted in many of the species almost never coming to the surface and, thus, never experiencing the light of their sun.
The average Kari day involved growing food to feed the 100 billion Kari that inhabited the homeworld. To aid them in feeding their people, the Kari became quite adept at creating small mechanical appliances and machines which they exported in exchange for more food. A Kari family was called a Hatch, which was made up of 20 to 30 Kari individuals.
Being an insectoid species this resulted in a hive-like society being formed; some would even state that it was a true hive society with no individual personalities or individuality being demonstrated. As such, the Kari possess limited intelligence though one of their unique traits was developing a system of songs that served to teach history from one generation to the next. This resulted in a form of Bards being produced among the Kari with each Hatch possessing at least one singer who would preserve the history of the Hatch and 'sing' it to other Hatches.
During the time of the New Order, the Galactic Empire banned the Kari from participating or even developing space travel. This was due to the fear that the massive population growth rate of the Kari would have resulted in them outnumbering and overrunning Human society.

Lianna was the fourth planet of the Lianna system in the Allied Tion sector of the Outer Rim Territories. The ecumenopolis[5] was the homeworld of House Santhe and the headquarters of Santhe/Sienar Technologies. Located on the junction of the Perlemian Trade Route, the Cadinth Run and the Shaltin Tunnels, Lianna was one of the busiest ports in the Tion Cluster.

Metellos was the fourth of seven planets in the Metellos system of the Coruscant sector in the Core Worlds region. The planet orbited one star, also called Metellos, and in turn was orbited by three moons.
Metellos, also known as "the Coruscant that wasn't," was the fourth planet from the star Metellos in the Metellos system of the Coruscant sector in the Core Worlds region of the galaxy. It was located on the Metellos Trade Route, a hyperlane on which it lay between Norkronia and Coruscant. A traditional uninterrupted hyperjump to Ilum was made from Metellos, but could only be accomplished by pilots who were strong in the Force and was kept secret by the Jedi. A day on Metellos lasted 24 standard hours and a year lasted 361 standard days.
A terrestrial world with a diameter of 12,600 kilometers, Metellos possessed three moons and featured a breathable atmosphere, temperate climate, and standard gravity. With the exception of a few seas and desert wastelands, the surface of Metellos was entirely urbanized. Seventeen large stratablocks were present on Metellos, and structures such as these reached heights as great as one kilometer above the planet's surface, tapering off into single-story structures. Many tracts, especially those situated far away from the stratablocks, were shabby, environmentally toxic, and occupied by diseased squatters.
In spite of its problems, Metellos was considered to be a highly developed planet. Metellos was governed by a bureaucracy and exported business services and advanced technology while importing foodstuffs and office supplies. More than 1,000 floating cities, constructed by the wealthy executives of the planet to compensate for overcrowding, drifted 1,200 meters above housing precincts. Designers modeled these cities after the herd cities of Ithor, though in reality the gridlike Metellean constructs were obviously quite different from their inspirations. It was a large producer of energy. Heavy industrial areas lay between the stratablocks.

History
Metellos was colonized between 27,000 BBY and 26,000 BBY by Humans who traveled from Coruscant in sleeper ships. The Galactic Republic formed later, and as the government took shape over subsequent centuries, many merchants, dignitaries, and prospectors found operating on Coruscant more convenient than doing so on Metellos, which required an additional hyperspace jump to the galactic west. For a time, Metellos hosted a diverse community of hyperspace explorers who hoped to discover a western counterpart to the Perlemian Trade Route that would make Metellos a new economic center. Although the Metellos Trade Route proved disappointing, Metellos persisted in its efforts, leading to economic recession that lasted for centuries.
Metellos was incorporated into the Galactic Republic by approximately 22,000 BBY. Too proud to request aid from the Galactic Senate, the rulers of Metellos exploited their world's resources to obtain temporary capital, and in the absence of measures to ensure environmental balance, unchecked population growth occurred. Long after Coruscant had become a Galactic hub, a planet in the Deep Core, Koros Major in 5000 BBY began to overshadow Metellos. During the Great Hyperspace War, the navy of Naga Sadow traveled to Metellos from Coruscant. In 700 BBY, the directors of Metellos's most powerful corporations created clean, airborne cities for the use of the wealthy and well-connected. As the Galactic Empire rose to power, Palpatine granted the ruling executives of Metellos a stake in the Corporate Sector Authority.
New Republic governance led to the establishment of a representative democracy on Metellos, but elected officials remained under the influence of local corporate interests. The Empire besieged Metellos during Operation Shadow Hand, and in 10 ABY, an Imperial fleet led by Admiral Sander Delvardus engaged a New Republic defensive force on Metellos and bombarded the planet in a show of force, killing more than five billion people. The subsequent recovery of Metellos was slowed due to the New Republic's focus on repairing damage on Coruscant. During the Black Fleet Crisis, the New Republic Fifth Battle Group used Metellos as a supply point as it attacked the Koornacht Cluster.
Inhabitants
Humans comprised 90% of Metellos's population of 900 billion, which made the planet among the most densely-populated in the galaxy. Overpopulation was the greatest problem that affected Metellos. The population was divided into two social classes: the gentry, who controlled the floating cities and the upper levels of the stratoblocks, and the groundpounders, who consisted of datapushers, plant laborers, con artists, thieves, and indigents. Galactic Basic Standard was spoken by the planet's inhabitants, who typically felt that their homeworld was unimpressive by the standards of the Core Worlds.
Nar Shaddaa was the largest moon of Nal Hutta. More commonly known as the Vertical City, the Smugglers' Moon and Little Coruscant, Nar Shaddaa was similar to Coruscant in that its surface was entirely overgrown with city sprawl for millennia. But unlike Coruscant—which was only relatively rundown and dangerous on the lower and under levels of the world city—Nar Shaddaa was filthy, polluted, and infested with crime everywhere. Nevertheless Nar Shaddaa remained the most important financial and trading center of Hutt Space.

Taris was an urban planet in the fifth orbit of its star, located in the Taris system, within the Ojoster sector, of the Outer Rim Territories, in turn Taris was orbited by four moons, including Rogue. The term Tarisian was used to describe people and products from the planet. The planet's ecumenopolis quickly developed over a century of prosperity, and as a result the planet suffered from massive overpopulation. Once a galactic nexus that earned great wealth from its strategic position on hyperspace routes, Taris' importance declined with the discovery of improved trade routes, and the planet rapidly fell into decay. The remainder of the planet's history was wrought with civil disorder and social unrest. As it turned to industry as a means of compensation for its economic troubles, its oceans became polluted, eliminating the planet's main food source. Famine spread among the lower classes while the rich hoarded what few supplies remained. The resulting strife led to the Tarisian Civil War, the start of lasting prejudices between the Humanocentric Tarisian nobles and the largely alien underclass. The city became segmented, and the lower classes were banned from living in the upper levels of Taris.
During the Mandalorian Wars, Taris served as a crucial rallying point for dissident Jedi who had decided to fight against the invading Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders. As the lower classes were crushed beneath the rich, crime became rampant, and the Tarisian government did little in response. This caused Lhosan Industries, a mining company which employed half of the planet's lower class in its operation, to leave Taris. The millions left unemployed rioted against the government, kidnapping the planet's senator in the Galactic Senate as well as the local constable. This caused the local Jedi to leave Taris as well, leaving the planet in a state of chaos, as the war raged on around it.
By the time of the Jedi Civil War, order had been restored, but swoop gangs and crime still held sway over the Lower City. During the war, Taris was conquered by Darth Revan's Sith Empire, which quarantined the planet in an attempt to capture Jedi Bastila Shan. As the search continued fruitlessly, the Sith leader Darth Malak, ordered the bombardment of Taris, killing countless civilians. This act had huge political repercussions for the Sith and changed the tone of the rest of the war, showing Malak and the Sith's true colors, the desire to achieve victory at any cost.
Over the next few millennia the planet managed to rebuild and recover from its devastation, though never reaching the extent of its former glory. Similar to other ecumenopolies like Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa, the upper levels were safe and secure, inhabited by the wealthy, while the lower levels were frequently plagued by gang warfare and inhabited by thugs and the poor.
During the Great Galactic War, Taris had become the subject to both Jedi and Sith plans; while the Jedi wanted to rebuild the planet to prove to the people of the Republic that they were strong enough to recover from such a disaster, and with it raise morale, the Sith sought to foil their plans, to prove that the Republic couldn't recover from such a thing.

Trantor was an ecumenopolis located within the Trantor system of the Core Worlds and the homeworld of Trantor pigeons.
n Isaac Asimov's Foundation series, Trantor is the city-covered capital of a Galactic Empire. It is speculated that Asimov's Trantor was one of the inspirations for Coruscant.

- du Palais Impérial, Siège du Gouvernement Impérial et résidence de l'Empereur, dans son Petit Palais. Il s'agit du deuxième plus grand édifice de la Galaxie, et son escalier contient le plus grand nombre de marches de tout l'Empire ;
- de la Bibliothèque Impériale, institution neutre, et plus ancienne que l'Empire Galactique lui-même, gardienne de l'ensemble du savoir humain. Il s'agit du plus grand édifice de la Galaxie, et son escalier est le deuxième plus grand de l'Empire ;
Vorzyd V, also known as Vorzyd 5, Vorzyd-5, or Gambler's World, was a planet in the Vorzyd system of the Outer Rim Territories.
Occupying the fifth and outermost orbit from the star Vorzyd, Vorzyd V was a terrestrial planet in the Vorzyd system, located within the Vorzyd sector of the Outer Rim Territories region of the galaxy. With a diameter of 14,900 kilometers, the world possessed standard gravity, a breathable atmosphere, a temperate climate, and no moons. Its terrain was largely urban,[3] though plains were also present on its surface. A day on Vorzyd V lasted 22 standard hours and a year lasted 277 standard days.
Due to the wealth of Vorzyd V, the Vorzyd system was an important part of the Commonality, a confederacy of nine sectors centered around the trading world of Columex. Vorzyd V had a democratic government with a Prime Minister, and while the planet had no major exports, it received imports including consumer goods, industrial goods, and foodstuffs. Efavan, the capital city of Vorzyd V, hosted a number of lavish casinos, which were marketed by holographic advertisements in the world's orbital traffic lanes.

The Vorzydiaks were a race of Near-Humans indigenous to Vorzyd IV and Vorzyd V. They were tall and gaunt with yellowish-green skin, larger than normal eyes, and a pair of antennae.
Society and culture
Vorzydiak children attended school every day of the week, and began working one day a week at the age of ten. Every year the child would take on an additional work day, becoming a full time worker at the age of seventeen. Upon reaching seventy years old, the worker was allowed to retire, more because of their uselessness than anything else. At this point, most Vorzydiaks died of a lack of purpose.
In their personal lives, the Vorzydiaks were quiet and reserved. They were also very serious, so much so that trivialities like fun and games were looked down upon. Most preferred to be alone, and as a culture they made little effort to interact with other worlds.
This changed with the rise of the Freelies, a youth organization which committed acts of sabotage in hopes of bringing about social change.
